Nick Lane, Chief Insight Analyst
Nick is Chief Insight Analyst and Founder at mobilesquared, and specialises in all aspects of the mobile and telecommunications industries, including; OTT and messaging, unified communications, mpayments, mobile marketing and advertising, premium rate services, automated platforms, mobile internet and social media, apps and content, as well as technology.
Nick oversees all aspects of client projects; research, analysis, data modellling, and creative output, to drive awareness of our clients' brands through white papers or reports, or provide our clients with market positioning and competitor analysis to support company expansion and product launches.
Nick speaks at conferences around the world, and is a judge for the Global Mobile Awards, the MEFFYS and the EMMAs.
In his time as an analyst, Nick has written strategic industry reports on "Mobile Advertising: Cutting Through The Hype," "Taking Internet Mobile", "Consumer behaviour on Mobile," "Mobile Network Planning," "IP-Core Networks: Legacy vs Next-Gen", to name a few.
Prior to mobilesquared, Nick was principal analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media (now Ovum), covering the mobile content, service and advertising space. Going back further still, he spent 10 years as a tech journalist, working on leading B2B titles.

Gavin Patterson, Chief Data Analyst
Gav is Chief Data Analyst and Head of Reports at mobilesquared. He brings 25 years experience in journalism, research and analysis - including over 15 years specialising in the technology, media and telecoms (TMT) space.
Gav is an expert in all things mobile - with a focus on digital content, mobile messaging, payments, marketing and advertising, as well as OTT, technology and devices. He has authored numerous articles and reports covering various mobile markets and strategies, spoken at leading mobile conferences and events around the world, and developed our Mobile Consumer Trends data forecast tool.
Prior to mobilesquared, Gav held analyst roles including Research Director at Dataxis, and Principal Analyst and Editorial Director at Informa Telecoms & Media. Prior to that, he was a senior business journalist in Asia, including stints as the Business Editor of the Hongkong Standard and the Financial Editor of the Eastern Express.

Jo Hall, Communications Director
Jo has over 18 years experience working in communications and marketing roles at global media and advertising agencies ZenithOptimedia, Starcom Mediavest, and Burkitt DDB, and latterly at B2B marketing agency OgilvyOne dnx - where she specialised in B2B communications strategy for tech clients including Cisco WebEx, Tandberg, Axis and Sun Microsystems - with a focus on digital, content marketing, and social media programmes.
She has developed strategy and managed global comms programmes for varied enterprise brand clients including Toyota Lexus, Puma, Seiko, Calvin Klein, John Lewis, and Oracle amongst others. She was media lead on the team who were responsible for creating the first ever John Lewis TV ad in 2003, at full service agency Burkitt DDB. Jo is also the proud holder of a prestigious Cannes Media Lion award, for her work on the Lexus SC430 European integrated media campaign in 2001.
At mobilesquared Jo helps clients to create an effective communications strategy to amplify the content that the mobilesquared team produce, in order to put them in front of their customers and ahead of their competitors.
